While the truth-starved masses will probably never get answers to such riddles, the worlds of Fleming and Roddenberry will meet in November when the first full trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek will premiere before the next Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

It’s a powerful tag-team of major franchises that should serve each related studio well. Solace will open huge for Sony and MGM, but you know there’s more than one Trekker who will drop money just to see the trailer on the big screen. And, with the Star Trek franchise not as hot as it used to be, Bond should deliver a captive audience that could jump-start word of mouth for the Abrams reboot.
