While the tune is sure to stick in listener’s minds the dynamic duo had a lot to live up to. Artists ranging from Louis Armstrong to Madonna, Tom Jones to Tina Turner, have all contributed their musical talents to the film franchise and history. Here are some hits that have withstood the test of time.

5. “A View to Kill” – Duran Duran – Is the only theme song to ever hit number one on the U.S. charts.

4. “Goldfinger” – Shirley Bassey – Simply a classic Bond theme song.

3. “Nobody Does it Better” – Carly Simon – First theme to have a different title than the film and received an Academy Award nomination.

2. “Live and Let Die” – Paul McCartney and Wings – First theme song to be nominated for an Academy Award.
